PARTNERS+simons • agency Nine foot, back-lit poster at Fenway Park. If you look closely, you can see how the red stitching continues under the hairline. I painted a number of strands of hair over the stitching in Photoshop.

Yup, that’s my little girl and one of our neighbor’s kids. I’ve always liked this shot a lot.
I’m still amazed how my friend William Rogers was able to paint an out-of-focus-crowd backdrop. The man blows my mind with his incredible artistic talent, and obscene amount of memory cells, while I always seem to suffer from acute CRS!

The goalie was actually diving to deflect a giant beach ball the same size as the soccer ball. The baseball player was just diving. They both dove over and over again. I have no idea how many times.

We rented the Reggie Lewis Track and Field Center in Boston, along with a bucket lift big enough to get us 65 feet in the air.

Traveling Lawyer

The concept of this ad was to create an image illustrating the law firm of Nixon Peabody's international presence by shooting one of their attorneys in a middle eastern bus, filled with passengers and livestock.
We rented this vintage bus from the Boston MBTA. It was stored in a massive terminal building, dank, dark, and not much available power for our lights. Plus, it was cold and raining outside.
So, we had to bring in generators to power our lights and electric heaters. We hung a huge wall of black velvet outside the windows to keep from seeing the terminal interior. We created our own sunlight coming through the windows and digitally added the sunny scene later. To top it all off, the chickens were clucking like crazy and the goat was dropping pellets like a gumball machine.

Nixon Peabody Law Firm
Part of the same series as the bus. We shot initially from a lead vehicle while our model, a Miami cop who was into bikes, rode behind. To be safe, I also shot him sitting still, with the kickstand down, and his tie wired to look in motion. I ended up using this still shot and added the motion effects in Photoshop.

We shot the photo with the glove quickly, after getting surprise approval from the client. For obvious reasons, after we had finished the shot, the approval was rescinded and we shot the doctors looking down as it's replacement. But we did the glove printed!
